SUNY Plattsburgh Hosts Fire Safety Presentations
PLATTSBURGH, NY (Sept. 25, 2007) - In observance of National Fire Prevention Month, the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control will present two fire safety programs on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus.
The first presentation, "They're in Your Hands," will take place on Monday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m., in the Angell College Center Ballroom. It will be geared toward prevention measures that faculty and staff can take to enhance fire safety on campus.
The second presentation, "The Choice Is Yours: A Fire Safety Presentation That Could Save Your Life," will take place on Monday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Angell College Center Ballroom. This presentation will be geared toward on- and off-campus students, landlords and homeowners.
Everyone is welcome to attend either presentation. The events are free, and refreshments will be provided.
Both talks will be conducted by Deputy Chief Guy Swartwout from the Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Swartwout is an experienced and dynamic presenter. Release time for SUNY Plattsburgh employees to attend these programs may be authorized with supervisory approval.
These programs are sponsored by Plattsburgh State University Police, Environmental Health and Safety, Housing and Residence Life, the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life, Pi Alpha Nu Fraternity, the Plattsburgh City Fire Department and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
