SUNY Plattsburgh College Council to Hear Budget Update
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Nov. 25, 2009) - The SUNY Plattsburgh College Council will hold
its regular December meeting Monday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. in Room 416, Sibley Hall where
Vice President for Finance John Homburger will discuss the 2009-2010 college operating
budget.
SUNY Plattsburgh faces significant budget cuts as a result of Gov. David Patterson?s
proposed $90 million cut in funding to SUNY overall. Homburger will give council members
an update on the budget and plans to close the deficit.
Anne Hansen, vice president for institutional advancement, will give council members
an update on the Bright with Promise Campaign, which is approaching the $11 million
mark on the way to a $15 million goal, and Provost Patricia Higgins and Director of
Admissions Richard Higgins will present the Spring 2010 Admissions Report.
In addition, the council will select the 2010 Distinguished Service Award recipient,
who will be presented the award at commencement in the spring.
The council will also commend outgoing board member and Student Association President
Lindsey Lyons for her service to the council and hear council committee reports, among
other agenda items.
