SUNY Plattsburgh Ceremony, Concert to Commemorate Sept. 11 Anniversary
SUNY Plattsburgh will honor the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with two on-campus events.
The college’s annual memorial service will take place on the lawn by Hawkins Pond at 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11. Charles Sanchez, executive vice president of the Student Association, will emcee the program, which will feature speeches by Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs James Liszka and Student Association President Prajwal Shah, as well as a performance by the college’s Gospel Choir.
At 4:30 p.m., following the ceremony, the music department will present the concert “Plattsburgh Remembers” in E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall. Faculty will perform in this program of solo, chamber and choral works to honoring both the heroes and the victims of the tragedy.
Both events are free and open to the public.
