"South Pacific" in Concert April 20, 21


PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Music Department at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh and the Essex Theatre Company are excited to work in partnership to bring a once-in-a-lifetime production of "South Pacific" in concert on Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, at 8 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall.

The Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical will be directed by Derrick Hopkins with music director Timothy Morningstar and orchestra director Jo Ellen Miano.

The production features two-time Tony Award winner and Emmy award winner George Hearn and his wife, Broadway performer Leslie Hearn. The play will be performed in concert featuring a full orchestra.

Limited tickets are still available at the Hartman Theatre box office, located in the lobby of the Myers Fine Arts Building. Tickets may be reserved by phone with a Visa or MasterCard by calling 518-564-2283 until Friday, April 20, at 2 p.m. Box office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

The box office relocates to the E. Glenn Giltz lobby in Hawkins Hall at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 20. Tickets charged by phone may be picked up during posted box office hours. The Hawkins Hall box office will be open Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Reserved seating only. Cash or checks will be taken to purchase last-minute tickets, if available, on the nights of the performances. 

Ticket prices are $40, $30 and $20 for general admission; $25 and $15 for faculty, staff, seniors and non-SUNY Plattsburgh students; and $7 and $5 for SUNY Plattsburgh students.
