Sophomore Earns First Career Weekly Honor from SUNYAC
FREDONIA, N.Y. (May 3, 2010) -- SUNY Plattsburgh right-hander Dan Tracy has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, for the period ending Sunday, the league announced on Monday. This is Tracy's first career honor and he becomes the first Cardinal this season to win the SUNYAC pitcher of the week award.
The sophomore from Somers High School scattered five singles over six innings of work
to shut down NCAA Division II Saint Michael's, 11-1, in the first game of a home doubleheader
on Saturday. With the win, he extended his school record for season victories (9-0)
and tied the team's all-time record of 14, which was first set 41 years ago by Paul
Dingman. (Dan Hoffman also had 14 from 2004-06.)
Currently, Tracy tops the SUNYAC and is among NCAA Division III leaders with a 9-0
mark to go along with a 3.52 earned-run average and .268 opponents' batting average.
