Sinfonia Chamber Ensemble Concert April 27
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Sinfonia Chamber Ensemble at the State University of New York
College at Plattsburgh will perform a concert for string orchestra and harpsichord
at the Lake Forest Retirement Community on Thursday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. The concert
is free and open to the public.
The ensemble, under the direction of Elizabeth Gorevic, consists of 16 players from the college community as well as members from throughout the North Country. Performing some of the most challenging music written for string orchestra, the ensemble enjoys playing a variety of works by composers from a wide range of countries, eras and musical styles.
The concert at Lake Forest will include the well-loved Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 by J.S. Bach, Mozart's ever-popular Eine Kleine Nachtmusik , and a less well-known lighthearted English Suite by Sir Charles Hubert Parry.
