Shaughnessy Nets ECAC Upstate Weekly Soccer Honors
Pat Shaughnessy of the Cardinal men’s soccer team has been named ECAC Division III Upstate Offensive Player of the Week. Shaughnessy’s latest honors come after earning SUNYAC Player of the Week honors on Monday.
Shaughnessy scored nine points and played a role in six of Plattsburgh’s seven goals in a 2-0 week for the Cardinals. He tallied a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win over Fredonia State. The Plattsburgh native then added two goals and an assist in a 3-1 victory over Buffalo State.
The senior forward leads Plattsburgh with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points. Shaughnessy also has a team-best five game-winning goals.
The Cardinals wrap up their conference schedule with two games on the road this weekend. Plattsburgh travels to Geneseo Friday for a 3 p.m. game before heading to Brockport for a 1 p.m. matchup Saturday.
