Shared Services for Municipalities Conference
PLATTSBURGH, NY (August 29, 2007) - A regional conference on shared municipal services is being held Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Valcour Educational Conference Center, Route 9N, in Peru.
Municipal administrators, elected officials, attorneys, and other officials interested in the delivery of effective government services are encouraged to attend. Participants will learn about grant funding, grant writing and the application process; case studies on municipalities with shared services; and the types of services available through the Shared Municipal Services Incentive Grant Program. Guest speakers include New York Secretary of State Lorraine Cortes-Vazquez and State Senator Betty Little (R-Queensbury).
The conference, free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Technical Assistance Center at SUNY Plattsburgh, the Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce, and the Shared Municipal Services Incentive Grant Program.
