Service Remembering 9/11 Terrorist Attacks to be Held at Hawkins Pond
The annual SUNY Plattsburgh 9/11 memorial service will be held noon on the Hudson Hall side of Hawkins Pond Friday, Sept. 9.
The ceremony, coordinated by the Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honor society, will feature the Plattsburgh circle’s president, Breanna Syslo, and Student Association President Michael Kimmer as guest speakers. The Plattsburgh State Gospel Choir will perform.
In addition to honoring the nearly 3,000 who perished as the result of the attacks on the twin towers in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the plane crash in Pennsylvania, the SUNY Plattsburgh service also honors alumni Robert Sutcliffe ’84 and William Erwin ’92, both of whom worked in the World Trade Center.
The ceremony is open to the public. For more information, contact Larry Allen, director of student conduct, at 518-564-3282.
