Sept. 11 Memorial Service to be Held at Plattsburgh State
A memorial service in remembrance of the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001 will be held at Plattsburgh State University of New York on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 12:30 p.m. at the Hawkins Pond, outside of Hawkins Hall.
Interim College President John Clark and Student Association President Tim Sarrantonio will make brief remarks and the Plattsburgh State Gospel Choir will perform. Prior to coming to Plattsburgh State in June of this year, Clark was a senior vice president at a New York City investment banking firm, located only a couple of blocks from the World Trade Center. Several of his friends died in the catastrophic collapse of the two tall buildings.
The service, which is open to the public, will be held at the monument honoring two Plattsburgh State alumni who perished in the World Trade Towers. Robert Sutcliffe was a 1984 graduate and worked as a broker for Harvey, Young and Yurman. William Erwin, a 1992 graduate, was a broker from Cantor Fitzgerald.
