Second Annual Peace and Social Justice Conference Oct. 20
PLATTSBURGH, NY__ The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh will host the second annual Peace and Social Justice Conference on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Alumni Conference Room, Angell College Center.
The conference is geared toward pre- and in-service teacher educators and other affiliated disciplines and faculty.
The conference will feature speakers who are experts and invited scholars in the field of social justice. The keynote speaker is Janaki N. Tschannerl, professor of education at Keene State College, who will present, "Social Justice and Pedagogy."
"This is a very timely and needed topic for educators," said Dr. Marilyn Nelson, associate professor of childhood education and conference coordinator. "Dr. Tschannerl, the conference's keynote speaker, has outstanding credentials."
There is no registration fee, and in-service teachers will receive workshop credit for attending the conference. For more information, contact Nelson at 518-564-5135.
