Run to Remember Fun Run to Benefit Third Age Adult Day Center Slated for Aug. 18
The eighth annual Run to Remember to benefit SUNY Plattsburgh’s Third Age Adult Day Center for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias will be held Friday, Aug. 18 at 52 U.S. Oval in Plattsburgh beginning with registration at 6 p.m.
The evening includes a 1-mile kids run/walk beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by a 5K run at 7 p.m. Registration is $15 before Aug. 13; $20 after Aug. 13. Kids run/walk is $5. The first 25 to register receive a free t-shirt.
The Third Age Adult Day Center at the newly renovated Center for Neurobehavioral Health in Sibley Hall on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus provides day programming for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The Run to Remember is coordinated by the families of Doug Hoffman, who had Alzheimer’s and died at 67, and Ellen Cronk, who was diagnosed with dementia at 61 and is cared for by her family and attends the Third Age Center.
