Roger Burke Re-appointed to the College Council


PLATTSBURGH, NY __ Roger Burke has been re-appointed by Governor George Pataki to the College Council at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.

Burke, who was initially appointed to the council in October 1998, was re-appointed to a six-year term to expire June 30, 2012.

"I am thoroughly enjoying working with Roger and am pleased he has been re-appointed to the council," said SUNY Plattsburgh President John Ettling.

Council chairperson Donald Garrant said, "Roger is a loyal member of the council and a good supporter of the College. He has a great attendance record at the council meetings and has served as an effective liaison between the council and the College's facilities and maintenance department. I look forward to continuing to work with Roger."

In addition to his service on the council, Burke has been a long-time supporter of SUNY Plattsburgh and has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Plattsburgh College Foundation.

Burke has been active in the community and is a member of the Board of Directors for The Development Corporation in Plattsburgh. He has served as president of the United Way of Clinton County and the Adirondack Boy Scouts of America, and has also served as a director on the boards of CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh/North Country Chamber of Commerce, Clinton County Youth Bureau and Plattsburgh AM Rotary Club.

Burke, currently a real estate agent with Duley and Associates in Plattsburgh, is the retired CEO of Pepsi Cola in Keeseville, N.Y., where he was responsible for sales, marketing and operations of the soft drink distribution center for a three and a half county area in Northeastern New York. Burke and his wife, Marjorie, reside in Morrisonville and have two children.
