Rockwell Kent Exhibit in Glens Falls Site of Alumni Office Event
The Plattsburgh State Art Museum and SUNY Plattsburgh Alumni Association will co-host a gathering of alumni and friends at The Hyde Collection, 161 Warren St., Glens Falls, Saturday, June 23 for the museum’s current Rockwell Kent exhibit.
The event begins with a lecture by Rockwell Kent scholar Justin Wolff, associate professor of art history at the University of Maine, at 1 p.m. followed by a tour at 2 p.m. and refreshments at 3 p.m.
The Plattsburgh State Art Museum holds the most complete and balanced collection of Kent’s work in the United States. A number of pieces in The Hyde Collection’s exhibit, “Rockwell Kent: Prints from the Ralf C. Nemec Collection and Paintings from North Country Collections,” are on loan from the college’s Rockwell Kent Gallery.
