'Ride to Remember' Supports Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Centers

The 11th annual “Ride to Remember” motorcycle rally held in honor of Barbara Tobin will begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9 at the American Legion Post 1619, Rand Hill Road in West Plattsburgh.

The event, held rain or shine, benefits the Alzheimer’s Disease Assistance Center and Third Age Adult Day Centers in Plattsburgh, Malone and Elizabethtown. Riders leave Post 1619 at 10:30 a.m. and return around 1 p.m. Entertainment, food, raffles and more begins at 1:30 p.m.

Tobin, mother of seven children and the wife of the late Frank Tobin, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 1997. She passed away from the disease eight years later. Her family and friends began the “Ride to Remember” in her honor. More than $120,000 has been raised to help victims and their families who are involved with the SUNY Plattsburgh sites.

Donation is $10 per person. For more information call 518-569-0014.
