Registration Open for Professional Rescuer Non-Credit Lifeguard Training Course
SUNY Plattsburgh will be offering a non-credit lifeguard training course for the professional rescuer from April 10 to May 1 Tuesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To qualify for certification, students must attend all classes. Successful completion of all components of the course will certify students in lifeguarding/waterfront/first aid and CPR/AED for professional rescuers. Both are two-year certifications.
The registration form and fee will be accepted Monday–Friday from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and brought to 314 Memorial Hall. Enrollments will be accepted on a first-come-first-enrolled basis. Students will be contacted if they are unable to be enrolled.
Registration is $225 and is open to anyone 15 years and older. If a student fails the prerequisite swim test, registration is refunded. The class has spots for 16 students. A registration form and fee will be accepted Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 314 Memorial Hall. Enrollments are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students can also mail their registration form and fee to the Department of Recreation, 101 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y., 12901, in care of Beth Shaughnessy.
