Readers to Open Covers of Banned Books During Annual Read-Out
The annual SUNY Plattsburgh Banned Books Read-Out will be held in the second-floor lobby, Feinberg Library, Wednesday, Sept. 24 from noon to 2 p.m.
“Building on the great success of the last two years, we’ll highlight the issue of ‘freedom to read’ by having faculty, staff and students read from a selection of banned or challenged books from Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass” to Sherman Alexie’s “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian,” said Tim Hartnett, associate librarian at Feinberg.
“This is a drop-in event — everyone is welcome to stop by for a reading or two or stay for the whole two hours,” he said.
