Rabbi to Address Issues of Sexuality as Presented in Genesis 38
The SUNY Plattsburgh Gender and Women’s Studies program will host Dr. Rabbi Kari Tuling, who will speak on “Levirate Marriage and the Biblical Tamar : She is More Righteous than I,” Thursday, Feb. 26 at 12:30 p.m. in the Cardinal Lounge, Angell College Center.
Tuling, spiritual leader of Temple Beth Israel, Plattsburgh, will discuss the biblical stance on marriage, homosexuality, polygamy and prostitution through the lens of Genesis 38, the story of Tamar.
