Quebec Minister of International Relations Gives Distinguished Quebec Address


The Institute on Quebec Studies, SUNYPlattsburgh, will host the Hon. Christine St. Pierre, minister of international relations and La Francophonie, Government of Quebec, who will deliver the annual Distinguished Quebec Address during a luncheon held Thursday, Jan. 29, beginning at noon in the Warren Ballroom B, Angell College Center.

She will address students, faculty and the community on “Quebec: A Leading Partner for the United States,” which touches on the crucial relationship and partnership shared by Quebec and the United States. 

St. Pierre served as the minister of culture, communications and the status of women from 2007 to 2012 and was elected as the Liberal party candidate in the Acadie in 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2014.

The Distinguished Quebec Address, sponsored by The Development Corporation, is a keynote event designed to feature an individual who has made a profoundly positive contribution to Quebec public life, and to explore timely contemporary issues of significance to Quebec society, including the province’s relationship with the United States.
