Prom Dress Sale to Benefit Child Abuse Prevention
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ If you have a prom dress and don't know what to do with it, don't
throw it away. Instead, donate it to Sigma Delta Tau Sorority at the State University
of New York College at Plattsburgh for its first ever Prom Dress Sale.
Sigma Delta Tau is currently taking donations for prom dresses from college students
and community residents who would like to donate them. Donations are currently being
accepted until Tuesday, April 20. The prom dresses can be left in a box at the Information
Desk in the Angell College Center at Plattsburgh State.
The dresses will then be sold to girls (prom-goers) from local area high schools at
a reduced rate during the sorority's first ever Prom Dress Sale on Wednesday, April
21, from 5 -10 p.m. in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center.
Proceeds from the sale will be donated to Prevent Child Abuse America for use in Clinton County. Sigma Delta Tau currently holds and sponsors the annual talent show; Soul'D Out, each fall at Plattsburgh State and proceeds from that event are also donated to the same cause.
Sigma Delta Tau was nationally founded at Cornell University on March 25, 1917 and chartered at Plattsburgh State on October 5, 1991.
