Program Explores State of Men in Higher Education
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (April 12, 2010) -- SUNY Plattsburgh’s Educational Opportunity Program is hosting “The State of Men in Higher Education: Part Three” 2:30-4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, in Krinovitz Recital Hall, Hawkins Hall.
The forum is part of a series initiated in the spring of 2009 as a way to address
the challenges faced by college men and, in particular, men of color.
With the performance gap between college women and men growing, the program will place
a specific focus on the transition of young men from high school to college, a subject
raised in prior panels and seen as an area of both concern and opportunity.
The discussion panel will consist of SUNY Plattsburgh faculty and staff, as well as
local school counselors, who can offer their expertise and insight.
The event is free and open to the public. For further information contact Brian Posthauer,
counselor, or Kyla Relaford, associate director, in the EOP Office at 518-564-2263
or [email protected].
