PR Firm Vice President To Talk About Swiss Banks' Restitution to Holocaust Survivors, Victims
The vice president and chief ethics officer with the public relations firm, Ruder Finn, will speak on how the firm was instrumental in the landmark deal that made Swiss banks agree to restitution of Holocaust assets.
Emmanuel Tchividjian will speak on “The Shoah, Swiss Banks and How One PR Agency Made a Difference” Wednesday, April 5 at 5 p.m. in Room 110, Ward Hall. Tchividjian’s talk is part of the Douglas R. Skopp Speakers Series on the Theme of the Holocaust.
In 2013, Holocaust survivors and victims’ estates received more than a billion dollars from a fund set up after a scandal erupted over the reluctance of Swiss banks to release assets in the dormant accounts of Jews who were murdered or displaced by the Nazis during the Shoah. Tchividjian will recount how Ruder Finn was instrumental in making the Swiss banks agree to make restitution.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Jonathan Slater, director of the Jewish studies program, at 518-564-2284 or email [email protected]. The Douglas R. Skopp Speakers Series on the Theme of the Holocaust is supported by the Plattsburgh College Foundation.
