Plattsburgh State Music Department presents Sinfonia and Chamber Ensemble Concerts


PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Music Department at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh will present the Chamber Ensembles Concert I on Wednesday, Nov. 17, the Sinfonia Chamber Concert on Thursday, Nov. 18. and the Chamber Ensembles Concert II on Monday, Nov. 22.

The Chamber Ensemble Concert I , featuring the Percussion Ensemble and the Claxophone Ensemble, will be held in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17. Admission is free and open to the public. This concert will feature a variety of music performed on a range of musical instruments.

The Sinfonia Chamber Concert will be held at Lake Forest Retirement Community, 8 Lake Forest Drive in Plattsburgh on Thursday, Nov. 18. The performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free and open to the public. The concert, directed by Elizabeth Gorevic, will feature selections by Arcangelo Corelli, Edvard Greig, Bela Bartok and many others.

The Chamber Ensemble Concert II , featuring Sinfonia, Brass and Flute ensembles, will be on Monday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. Sinfonia, directed by Gorevic, will perform selections by Corelli and Bartok. Under the direction of Herm Matlock, the Brass Ensemble will perform selections by Paul Dukas, Collier Jones and John Cheetham. The Flute Ensemble, directed by Robin Cameron-Phillips, will perform selections by Allessandro Scarlatti, Stephen Foster and J.B. de Boismortier.
