Hot off the Presses: Winter 2015 Issue of Plattsburgh Magazine | SUNY Plattsburgh

Students getting stronger with a new skill-assessment program, the rescue of an alumna from the summit of Poke-O-Moonshine and the story of a long-time local carpenter crafting a presidential masterpiece are among the stories in the Winter 2015 issue of Plattsburgh Magazine.

Published twice annually by the Office of Marketing and Communications, Plattsburgh Magazine tells the stories of alumni, faculty, staff and students who bring SUNY Plattsburgh to life on campus and throughout the world.

This issue’s cover features an oil-on-canvas painting by Samir Sammoun ’09, titled “Ticonderoga, July 30, 1609, Midnight After the Battle.” A gift of the artist in 2009, the painting hangs in the lobby of Hudson Hall Annex.

Other highlights include the story of a 10-year-old member of the SUNY Plattsburgh baseball squad, a son who used generosity to remember his late mother and fund a student scholarship and insights on how Acrotheatre’s legacy lives on.

The magazine also contains standing features on athletics, the arts, philanthropy and campus happenings, along with previews of opportunities to return to campus for Reunion and Homecoming.

Gifts to the Plattsburgh College Foundation support student aid, academic enrichment and enhancement of student programs.
