Plattsburgh Cross Country Receives NCAA At-Large Bids
The NCAA Division III Cross Country Committee Monday announced that the Plattsburgh State women's squad and men's team member Ryan Millar have received at-large bids for the 2011 men’s and women’s cross country National Championships that take place Saturday at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. The women’s race will begin at noon ET followed by the men’s race at 1 p.m. ET.
Millar, a junior from New Hartford (N.Y.) High School, is selected after pacing the Cardinals with a 21st place finish at the NCAA Regional Championships. An All-conference and All-Region selection this year, Millar is making his first-ever appearance at the National Championships.
The Cardinals women’s cross country team receives and at-large bid after finishing in third place at the NCAA Regional Championships with 99 points. The Cardinals are led by Stefanie Braun who qualified automatically for the championships after winning the Regional Championships. This will be the second year in a row the team will be heading to the National Championships.
