PICL Partners Sought for SUNY Plattsburgh International Students
The Global Education Office at SUNY Plattsburgh is looking for volunteers to connect with international students through its Partners in Cross-Cultural Learning, or PICL, program.
According to Jackie Vogl, associate vice president for global education, the PICL program seeks to match each participating student with a volunteer to serve as a community friend, helping them to explore and become accustomed to life in the North Country and the United States.
“This is not a hosting program, as all of our students have living quarters on or around campus,” she said. “All that is asked of community partners is to reach out to their student and get together for coffee, lunch or other social activities about once a month.”
For more information or to volunteer, call Laura Scott, global education office assistant, at 518-564-3287 or email [email protected].
