Peru Native’s Work Featured in New Burke Gallery Exhibition
For the first time in two years, the Plattsburgh State Art Museum is welcoming the public back during the summer for "Joe Remillard: Adirondack Visions," which opens Tuesday, June 7, noon to 4 p.m., in the Burke Gallery, Myers Fine Arts Building.
Remillard, a Peru native and lawyer-turned-artist, is professor of art in the School of Art and Design of Kennesaw State University, Georgia. While he paints a variety of different landscapes, “Visions” features his work in the Adirondacks, depicting not only the natural beauty of the area but images of agriculture that plays a big part of the local region.
The Plattsburgh State Art Museum will remain open through Saturday, May 21 from noon to 4 p.m., the last day of the college’s B.F.A. Senior Exhibition 2022 in the Burke Gallery. It will then be closed through June 6 as staff prepares for the Remillard show.
The Plattsburgh State Art Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. unless otherwise stated. For more information, call the museum office at 518-564-2474 or email [email protected].
