Pat Shaughnessy Named Men's Soccer SUNYAC Player of the Week
Pat Shaughnessy of the men’s soccer team has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16.
Shaughnessy earns his first conference honors of the season after figuring into six of Plattsburgh’s seven goals over a 2-0 weekend. In a 4-1 win over Fredonia, Shaughnessy’s goal in the 23rd minute proved to be the game-winner.
He also added two assists in the victory. On Saturday, he tallied a goal in each half and assisted on the Cardinals’ third goal as Plattsburgh defeated Buffalo State 3-1.
The Cardinals wrap up their conference schedule with two games on the road this weekend. Plattsburgh travels to Geneseo on Friday for a 3 p.m. game before heading to Brockport for a 1 p.m. matchup on Saturday.
