Painter, Columbia University Professor is Next Visual Artist Series Speaker


The next installment of the Fall 2017 Visual Artist Series will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 in Room 202, Yokum Lecture Hall, and feature painter Gregory Amenoff.

The New York City and Ulster County, N.Y., artist is the recipient of numerous awards from organizations including the American Academy of Arts and Letters, National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts and the Tiffany Foundation. 

Amenoff has had more than 50 one-man exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. His works hand in the permanent collections of more than 30 museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

He is a professor of art at Columbia University.
