Open Forum on Campus Safety and Emergency Response
PLATTSBURGH, NY (November 16, 2007) - On Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., SUNY Plattsburgh will hold an open forum for the campus community about campus safety initiatives and emergency response procedures. The forum will be held in the Alumni Conference Room of the Angell College Center.
The forum is meant to provide a comprehensive overview of the many projects and initiatives that are being developed or implemented to enhance or improve campus security and the ability for the campus to respond to serious emergencies.
Topics to be covered include: the campus emergency response plan and emergency response guidelines; the SUNY NY-Alert notification system; partnerships in safety; workplace violence; psychological services including the referral process and the Life Line program (suicide threat response program); responding to a medical crisis and violent behaviors. At the conclusion of the forum, attendees will be invited to request other topics for consideration.
All members of the campus community including faculty, staff, students, professionals and auxiliary services staff are welcome to attend this important forum.
