'Oklahoma!' Coming to Hartman Theatre Stage Nov. 5-8

The SUNY Plattsburgh theater and music departments will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” Thursday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 8 in Hartman Theatre.

The classic musical tells the tale of handsome cowboy Curly, who woos the winsome farm girl, Laurey, while crude farmhand Jud lurks in the darkness as he tries to claim Laurey’s hand for himself. The company of students perform some of the most memorable music from the American Broadway songbook, including “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning,” “Surrey with the Fringe On Top,” “Everything’s Up to Date in Kansas City,” and, of course, “Oklahoma!”

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 faculty, staff, non-SUNY Plattsburgh students and seniors, and $6 for SUNY Plattsburgh students and children under 12 and are available at the Angell College Center desk. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door prior to each performance. For information, call 518-564-2180.
