Nutrition Expert to Give Presentation on March 21


PLATTSBURGH, NY __ College students, many away from home for the first time, may not be as nutritionally-minded as they should be, filling up on fast, cheap meals such as macaroni and cheese, potato chips and fast food.

Ann Selkowitz Litt To help students get into the habit of eating right, the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh has invited Nutrition Expert Ann Selkowitz Litt to give a presentation on Monday, March 21 at 6 p.m. in the Point Snack Bar in the Angell College Center. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Litt operates a private practice that specializes in helping teenagers and young adults to develop normal eating habits and find a comfortable, healthy weight. She is the author of The College Student's Guide to Eating Well on Campus (Tulip Hill Press, 2000) and Fuel for Young Athletes: Essential Foods and Fluids for Future Champions (Human Kinetics Publishers, 2003). She is frequently quoted in The Washington Post and writes regularly for The Washington Parent , one of the leading parenting publications in Washington, D.C. 

Litt, the chairperson of Nutrition Entrepreneurs (a dietetic practice group of the American Dietetic Association), has been the recipient of the Association's Recognized Young Dietitian Award. She has served as a consultant for ABC -TV, CBS-TV and NBC-TV affiliates in the Washington area. She has given numerous presentations about healthy eating on college campuses nation-wide. Litt currently resides in Washington, D.C with her husband and two sons.
