Northcountry Planetarium Shows Planned to Commemorate Winter Solstice


The Northcountry Planetarium will present a series of events from Dec. 15 to 17 to celebrate the upcoming winter solstice.

The Solstice Celebration, a showing of three productions, will take place Friday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. in Room 108, Hudson Hall. Tickets are $8 for children and students with ID, $10 for seniors and SUNY staff with ID, and $12 for the public. 

“A Season of Light” and “Winter Sky Ephemeris,” shows created by Loch Ness Productions, a multimedia production company that specializes in cosmically creative content, will be presented Saturday, Dec. 16 and Sunday, Dec. 17 at 1, 2:15 and 3:30 p.m. in Room 108, Hudson Hall. Tickets are $5 for children and students, $6 for seniors and SUNY staff, and $7 for the public.

Advanced tickets can be purchased Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Room 337 in Hudson Hall. On the day of the show, they can be purchased in Hudson 104 until 15 minutes prior to show time.

Designated parking for Hudson Hall and the Northcountry Planetarium is in Hawkins Hall P2 lot.
