FREDONIA, N.Y. (March 9, 2010) - Redshirt junior attackman Kyle Norchi (Hauppauge High School) of SUNY Plattsburgh's men's lacrosse team has received the season's first player of the week award from the State University of New York Athletic Conference, for the period ending Sunday. This marks the co-captain's fourth career SUNYAC award, breaking a school record.
Norchi compiled a team-best nine goals and 11 points to help the Cardinals defeat
Western Connecticut, 14-12, on Friday, and Farmingdale State, 22-15, on Sunday. He
also had nine ground balls.
He joins current teammate Luke Weidlein as the only Cardinals to surpass the 100-goal
milestone, which occurred this weekend for both players. Norchi has 103 for his career
while Weidlein has 101.
