Newton Receives Teaching Excellence Award
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Teaching Excellence Award for Adjunct Faculty at the State
University of New York College at Plattsburgh was awarded to Lisa Newton during the
College's annual President's Opening Meeting on Friday, Aug. 20.
Newton has been teaching regularly in the Psychology Department since 1989. She has
taught such courses as adolescence, early childhood development and personality. She
has also taught American Management Association courses at CVPH Medical Center for
the Center for Lifelong Learning.
Newton received her Associate of Arts degree in the humanities from Clinton Community College. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Plattsburgh State (1984) and a master's in clinical psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
"I teach because I love the classroom, and the interaction with students," said Newton. "It keeps me growing intellectually and young at heart."
