Seven New Members Elected to Alumni Association Board
The Plattsburgh Alumni Association will soon have seven new alumni on its board of directors. The following alumni will each serve for a term that begins in January and ends in 2014:
Jody (Duquette) Carpenter '92
- Hometown: Morrisonville, N.Y.
- Major: Accounting.
- Position: Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, UFirst Credit Union.
- About Jody: Jody has supported SUNY Plattsburgh students through the North Country Scholarship Program, Cardinal Connections and baking cookies. She is interested in presenting a financial seminar to students.
Richard Davino '89 G'94
- Hometown: Framingham, Mass.
- Major: B.A. Speech Communications; M.S. Counseling.
- Career: Director of Career Services and Employer Relations, Framingham State College.
- About Richard: Richard was an RA and a member of the Student Association, as well as Omicron Delta Kappa as a student. He has 16 years experience in higher education in the areas of career services; M.B.A. and D. B.A academic advising; and residential life/judicial affairs.
Justin Elmendorf '04
- Hometown: Valley Cottage, N.Y.
- Major: Communications/Mass Media.
- Career: Technical Production Supervisor, CNBC.
- About Justin: He was a general honors student in 2001, a Presidential Scholar in 2002 and a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Omicron Delta Kappa. As an alumnus, he has been a member of Cardinal Connections, the Plattsburgh Alumni Community and has served as a class agent.
Tina Gerardi '80
- Hometown: Albany, N.Y.
- Major: Nursing.
- Career: CEO, New York State Nurses Association.
- About Tina: As a student, she worked as an RA with Rich Higgins as her hall director. Tina was a distinguished visiting alumna in 2008 and has referred students to SUNY Plattsburgh on a regular basis. She is also a member of Cardinal Connections.
Michael Arthur Harrington '03
- Hometown: Bennington, Vt.
- Major: Communications/Mass Media.
- Career: Director, New Training and Strategic Initiatives, New Directions Consulting Inc.
- About Michael: Michael was the president of the Student Association in '04. He also served as an RA and a residence director, as well as a member of Omicron Delta Kappa and a student ambassador.
Carla (Canjar) Jordan '04
- Hometown: Fairport, N.Y.
- Major: Environmental Science.
- Position: Environmental Manager, Casella Waste Systems.
- About Carla: She was a 2004 recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award and a 2008 recipient of the Off to a Good Start Award. As a student, she was a member Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
Stanley Maziejka '80
- Hometown: Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
- Major: Elementary Education.
- Career; Superintendent of Schools, Stillwater Central School District, Stillwater, N.Y.
- About Stanley: He is the first graduate from SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury to serve on the Alumni Association Board. He is also a member of many professional organizations, the vice president of the Emerging Workforce Council and a member of the Fort Edward Lions Club, the Fort Edward Historical Association Board of Directors and the Saratoga/Warren/Washington Workforce Investment Board.
