Myers Fine Arts Building to Reopen Saturday
Air-quality tests conducted by an outside firm have revealed that the Myers Fine Arts Building on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus is ready to reopen.
The building will be back in service at the start of the day, Saturday, March 19.
College officials closed the building Monday when an employee reported smelling strong odors. After an investigation, the officials determined that the cause may have been associated with the insulation system for the building’s high-temperature, hot water lines.
As of Thursday, work to rectify any issues with the lines had been completed. The building remained closed, however, so that officials could verify that there was no threat to the public.
In tests conducted on Friday, ATC Associates found the air quality to be above acceptable levels.
