Music Department to Present French Horn Immersion Conference
SUNY Plattsburgh music department faculty member, Ann Ellsworth, will be directing a French horn immersion conference with members of the New York Horn Ensemble April 19 and 20 at the Myers Fine Arts Building on campus. All events are free and open to the public.
The conference will include five lecture recitals on topics ranging from “Structured Improvisation in Contemporary Music” to “Using Etudes to Maximize Practice Time,” several concerts featuring the New York Horn Ensemble, and a master class for all brass players with Ann Ellsworth and her doctoral students from SUNY Stony Brook. Also participating will be student musicians from SUNY Plattsburgh and around the region. High school students are welcome.
