Mike Heymann Named SUNYAC Co-Athlete of the Week
Mike Heymann of the Plattsburgh State men’s track and field team was named State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 1.
In the 10,000-meter run at the Penn Relays, the senior out of Tully, N.Y. clocked in at 29 minutes, 55.37 seconds to finish sixth overall and break his own school record of 30:03.65 from last year’s Bucknell Bison Classic.
Heymann was also well under the NCAA Division III automatic-qualifying time of 30:10 to book his ticket to the NCAA Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University May 26-28.
The Cardinals' championship season will start on Friday at the SUNYAC Championships,
hosted by SUNY Geneseo.
