Men's Soccer Trio Named to All-NSCAA Region Squad
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Dec. 9, 2010) --The National Soccer Coaches Association of America Thursday unveiled its all-region teams for NCAA Division III, with three Plattsburgh State student-athletes garnering NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-East Region accolades. Senior midfielder Chris Taylor and senior defender John LoGuirato made the first unit, while senior defender Bart Misiak was a second-team selection. The Cardinals led all State University of New York Athletic Conference members with three all-region players.
Taylor, of Liverpool, England (Cardinal Heenan), led Plattsburgh in scoring with 21
points on four goals and a SUNYAC-leading 13 assists. He was second in the league
in total points and ranked sixth in the nation in total assists. Taylor, who is a
two-time all-region honoree, finished his four-year career as the Cardinals all-time
leader with 38 assists.
A product of Ronkonkoma Sachem North High School, LoGuirato (Holbrook, N.Y.) helped
a Cardinal defense that ranked first in SUNYAC with 12 shutouts and posted a 0.73
goals-against average. He is a four-year all-region player while being named All-East
by the NSCAA coaches for a second time. He contributed two goals and five points this
season.
Misiak makes NSCAA All-Region for the fourth consecutive season after battling through
injuries in 2010 that cost him five games played and possibly a third-straight bid
for All-America honors. But he still managed to record career highs of two goals,
two assists and six points while anchoring a formidable Cardinal back line.
All three men were named to the All-SUNYAC first team last month.
