Men's Soccer Hosting Spring Alumni Weekend
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (March 23, 2010) - The SUNY Plattsburgh men's soccer program is calling for past Cardinal players and their guests to attend a spring alumni weekend April 17-18. For more information, check out the team's official blog at http://gocardinalsmenssoccer.blogspot.com/.
"We are very excited about that weekend as the event will be our first-ever soccer
alumni weekend held in the spring. I would encourage former players to forward this
information out to any one they are still are in contact with, because we want to
reach out to everyone," said Plattsburgh head coach Chris Waterbury, who completed
his 25th season on the bench last fall. "I really would like to make this a great
weekend ... playing in the alumni game is optional, and hecklers are equally welcome."
The weekend kicks off Saturday with an exhibition game between Plattsburgh versus
Clarkson University and Lyndon State at 11 a.m., followed by a Cardinal alumni game
at 3 p.m. Then there will be two social events at the Alumni Room in the Angell College
Center: a "happy hour" mixer at 6 p.m. and a banquet featuring a "roast" of Coach
Waterbury at 7 p.m. On Sunday, a round of golf will be offered.
The cost is $40 including dinner, alumni soccer T-shirt and a complimentary beverage.
Children under 12 are $17 for dinner only. Guests are welcome. Please make checks
payable to SUNY Plattsburgh Men's Soccer. Please return your confirmation as soon
as possible to obtain firm head count for the dinner and golf reservations. For questions
and event confirmation, phone 518-570-7727, e-mail [email protected] or write Chris Waterbury, 212 Memorial Hall, Plattsburgh, N.Y. 12901.
