Men's Basketball Team Wins SUNYAC, to Host NCAA Tournament Game
The SUNY Plattsburgh men's basketball team received an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament after defeating SUNY Oneonta 93-80 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference championship game Saturday, Feb. 24 at Memorial Hall.
The Cardinals will host the Nichols College Bison (Dudley, Mass.) in the first round of the tournament Friday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Hall. The winner of that game will face either Union College (Schenectady, N.Y.) or New Jersey City University (Jersey City, N.J.) in the next round on Saturday beginning at 7 p.m.

Junior forward Jonathan Patron led the Cardinals with 41 points and picked up nine rebounds to become the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Junior forward Ian Howard recorded 15 points and 16 rebounds and added three assists to be named to the All-Tournament team.
Senior guard Eric Mack came off the bench and had 14 points and five rebounds on top of two assists to also be named to the All-Tournament team.
