Masquerade Presidents' Gala Features Dinner, Dancing
The 11th-annual SUNY Plattsburgh Presidents’ Gala, featuring a masquerade theme this year, will be held Friday, Dec. 4 from 6 to 11 p.m. in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center.
The semi-formal event includes a buffet-style dinner, dancing and live entertainment. Hosted by SUNY Plattsburgh President John Ettling and Student Association President Kevin Clayton, funds raised are used by the Plattsburgh College Foundation for student scholarships. The event brings in about $3,000 annually.
“The Presidents’ Gala represents a time when students, faculty and staff can come together to celebrate the close of the year,” said Michael Cashman, assistant director of the Center for Student Involvement. “The gala is an opportunity to share in food and fellowship with live entertainment, music and dancing while supporting the work of the Plattsburgh College Foundation,” he said. This year’s gala marks Cashman’s last as emcee. He will be leaving his position with the college when he is sworn in Jan. 1, 2016, as the new supervisor of the Town of Plattsburgh.
“This 11th-annual Presidents’ Gala means we are breaking into another decade of keeping a tradition alive that celebrates the best of the spirit of Plattsburgh, the relationships of our faculty, staff and students,” he said.
Tickets, available at the Angell College Center desk, are $10 for Student Association members; $20 for non-members. For more information, contact Cashman at 518-564-4830.
