'Language Hacker' Talks About Importance of Learning New Languages
An expert in rapid-language learning will discuss transforming opportunities by learning new languages Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Room 106, Hudson Hall.
Benny Lewis, a self-described "technomad language hacker," has traveled the world immersing himself in local cultures and learning local languages. Originally from Ireland, Lewis completed a degree in electronic engineering at age 21 and spoke only English. Now, he speaks seven languages fluently, is conversant in four more and has dabbled in dozens more.
