Josh Leis Earns SUNYAC Weekly Honors
Josh Leis of the Plattsburgh State men’s hockey team has been named State University of New York Athletic Conference Goalie of the Week for the week ending Jan.y 9. This marks the second straight week Leis has received such honors.
The sophomore goaltender of Kitchener, Ontario, helped lead Plattsburgh to a 1-0-1
week against nationally ranked No. 7 Norwich and Elmira. On Tuesday, Leis stopped
27 shots as the Cardinals defeated the defending national champion Cadets, 7-4.
In a 2-2 tie against Elmira, he recorded 25 saves, including a combined 16 saves
in the third period and overtime. Leis holds a 9-1-1 record on the season.
