Hundreds to March in Take Back the Night Event
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (April 15, 2010) – The Center for Women’s Concerns will host Take Back the Night Friday, April 30 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center.
Take Back the Night is a nationwide movement aimed at addressing issues regarding
sexual assault and abuse on college campuses as well as society as whole. The night
will include a speak-out for survivors and their loved ones to share their stories
and performances by local artists and speakers. It will conclude with a march through
the streets of Plattsburgh.
A week of events leading up to the march will begin April 26 and will include poster
making April 27 and a demonstration in Amite Plaza at 11 a.m. April 28. In addition,
“Prevention Intervention: Combating Violence on Our College Campus,” a forum sponsored
by the center, will be held Thursday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the Alumni Conference
Room, Angell College Center.
