Heymann, Scott Earn Spots on SUNYAC Track and Field All-Conference Team
Mike Heymann and Dustin Scott of the men’s track and field team were named to the
State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Track and Field All-Conference
team announced Wednesday.
To be a member of the all-conference team, a student-athlete must have finished in
the top two of an individual event at the Championship Meet held Feb. 26. Winners
of the event are named to the first team, while the second team is comprised of the
runner-up from each event.
Heymann earns first-team honors for the third-straight year after winning the 5000
meter run at the SUNYAC Championship Meet with an NCAA provisional time of 14:34.98.
The senior standout from Tully, N.Y. broke a 25-year-old championship meet record,
finishing 40 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
Scott received second-team accolades for the second time in his career. The sophomore
out of Ticonderoga, N.Y., finished second in the high jump with an ECAC-qualifying
mark of 1.97 meters.
The Cardinals will travel to the Armory Track and Field Center in New York City this
weekend for the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
