Gospel Choir to Give 'Soulful Christmas' Concert
SUNY Plattsburgh’s Dean of Students Stephen Matthews will host the Gospel Choir’s annual “Soulful Christmas Concert” from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 8 in Hawkins Hall’s E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium.
The 65-voice choir with its nine-piece band will perform traditional Christmas favorites from years past, with selections such as “Joyful Joyful,” “O Come Emmanuel,” and Kirk Franklin’s arrangement of “Hosanna.”
Also performing this year are the choir’s Step Team, Praise Team and Praise Dancers. The featured guest for the concert will be “Apple Crate” from Peru Intermediate School.
Tickets for students of all ages are $5 in advance or $8 at the door. General admission is $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Children 2 and younger who can share a seat with an adult are free. Tickets are available at the SUNY Plattsburgh Angell College Center information desk; Advance Music, 75 Maple St., Burlington, Vt.; the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts, 23 Brinkerhoff St.; and the Gospel Choir Office, Room 129, Hawkins Hall.
