Gospel Choir Celebrates Semester's End with GospelFEST 2014

The SUNY Plattsburgh Gospel Choir, a 50-voice ensemble with an eight-piece band, will usher out the spring semester with urban-infused spirituals and gospel works as part of GospelFEST 2014.

The concert, being held Sunday, May 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. in E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall, features works by Germaine Wilson, Raymond Wise, Donald Lawrence and Joe Pace, among others.

Also performing at this semester’s fest are the choir’s Step Team and Praise Dancers. Featured guests are John Harrison and the Montpelier Gospel Choir, an ensemble that combines soul, jazz, blues and original and traditional gospel music.

Advance tickets — available at the Gospel Choir office, 129 Hawkins Hall, and the Angell College Center desk, Advance Music in Burlington, and the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts — are $12 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets at the door are $16 for adults, $8 for students.
