Students Produced Live Webcast of PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout
During Thanksgiving weekend, fans of Cardinal Hockey were able to catch the action on the ice during the 2007 PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout, a men's Division III college ice hockey tournament.On November 23-24, fans were able to watch as SUNY Plattsburgh won the tournament against Middlebury College, Norwich University, and St. John's University of Minnesota."This tournament has taken on a national stature," said Bruce Delventhal, director of athletics at SUNY Plattsburgh. "There is not a more highly thought of tournament at our level."

Catching the Action Online
Thanks to a partnership with PrimeLink, four senior students from the college's Center for Communication and Journalism had the opportunity to produce live coverage of the tournament to be broadcast over the web.The students involved in the production were Ashley Gela, producer; Eric Hoffman, play-by play announcer; Sean McCluskey, color analyst; and Colleen Sheehy, between-period host..Project Demonstrates Power of New Program
